Improve your Basic Photo Skills: Saturday, September 8

Join Victor Watson on a photo walk through the Garden as he shares his best tips for getting out of auto mode on your camera.  Improve your photography skills while shooting great photos in the Garden.

Transform Your Home into a Professional Photography Studio: Saturday, October 20

Learn how to set up a photo studio in your own home! Join Victor Watson as he shows you how you can take a room in your home, add some basic accessories, and start taking photos that look like they were taken in a professional studio. Victor goes through all of the gear you’ll need to get started, and then demonstrates a series of portrait lighting techniques, that you can start using right away to get amazing results. You’re sure to learn a lot and have fun along the way as Victor shares tips and techniques that are easy to replicate with inexpensive equipment and a few props.

Bokeh?  : Saturday, November17

Bokeh is defined as “the effect of a soft out-of-focus background that you get when shooting a subject, using a fast lens, at the widest aperture, such as f/2.8 or wider.” Simply put, bokeh is the pleasing or aesthetic quality of out-of-focus blur in a photograph. You will come away with a better understanding of what bokeh is and how to apply it to your photography.

Star Trail Photography: Saturday, December 15

One of the super powers a camera instills is the ability to bend time — to capture microseconds, or to show hours in a single frame. Combine this power with near total darkness and a photographer can show the very motion of the heavens. With the advent of digital photography, star trail photography has become accessible to just about anyone with a modern DSLR or mirrorless camera. Join us for a workshop that will instruct you on the ins and outs of making star trails using simple equipment — a camera with manual mode, a lens, a tripod and a simple shutter release.

Unfortunately, if you cannot attend a session no refunds will be available, but please feel free to send someone else in your place.

3RD SATURDAY OF THE MONTH, 9:30AM-12PM
Please bring your own digital camera (and extra batteries)
